Its funny, but in February and March it seems as though our conscience mind can’t remember that by the 21st Spring emerges, the Parka comes off and we are exposed!  Well, that’s what’s happening here in Potomac… including myself – we are in a panic! Weight loss is the major topic…. at Life Time they are  following Crazy Sexy Diet, Weight Watchers membership is up and my community is full of questions- do we detox, become vegan, gluten free, carb free, fat free- the stress is up!

By now everyone knows that stress destroys willpower… and makes you  really sad! So, take a step back… a few Prana Breathes and know that something inside of you is about to bloom!

Weight loss is individual, so if you choose to follow “someone’s” diet plan- that works for them, just remember to tailor it to your needs. If the plan calls for a slice of lemon in warm  water in the morning and you know that the slice brings on your  acid reflux, well, don’t do it- drink warm water without the lemon! If the plan calls for zero carbs and you crave Angle Hair, that diet won’t work for you. If you are trying to become vegan and your pricing out Delmonicos for your family dinner,  and not including yourself- well that’s just torture!

As I’ve written on these pages before, Not All Calories Are Created Equal, it’s a handful of almonds not a Luna, an apple not the Kisses, moderation – no more supper sized potions, early to bed and positive thoughts that’s what keeps my weight in check, and my  mind clear so I look forward to July and August!

Try this energyzing drink!

1/2 english cucumber-

5 parsely sprigs or mint

1 peeled clemintine or a small orange- if you can’t tolerate citrus, one cut up apple or pear will work.

1/2 of a juiced lemon or lime. Try grating a tsp of the rind into it.

3 cups water

1 cup ice cubes

Blend all ingredients in a blender on high for about one minute until frothie. Makes several servings. Be creative, try other combinations.

Try this natural snack today!

Wash and slice an organic apple. Arrange on a plate. Sprinkle 1/2 tsp of organic cinnamon and then drizzle about one tablespoon of local honey over the apple. Cinnamon helps with weight loss by regulating insulin levels and local honey helps reduce symptoms from seasonal allergies!
